How does the solar installation process work?

Now that you’ve decided to implement solar into your home, it’s time to get started on the solar installation process! You probably have questions about how long this takes, how quickly it works, and if you’ll be listening to noisy installation for a while. The first thing you need to know is that there are various types of solar power. This will be reviewed with you during the initial solar buying process and determined based on your needs and expectations. Some different types of solar power and types of panels include: grid connected (with or without batteries), off grid, PV Panels, thin film panels, and solar thermal panels. No idea what any of those mean? That’s okay! Our solar experts will discuss the best installment plan for your home and answer any questions you might have.

Solar installation needs to be done by an expert-- the equipment, panels, and high voltage levels need to be handled carefully! Our solar installation team will first ensure that the roof (or other structure) that will hold the panels is durable and strong enough to hold the weight of the panels. We then measure the dimensions of the roof and ensure the panels are facing the optimal direction with minimal shade cover. After installing brackets on the sloped surface, we carefully attach the solar panels and fasten them securely to the bracket or rail system. Depending on the solar plan you created with your solar expert, our installers will then connect the panels and make sure all wires are weather-proof and properly installed. The next step is wiring the solar panels and connecting the system to the solar inverter. After connecting the inverter to the consumer unit, your installer’s job is almost finished.

Once your solar panels have been installed, you’re good to go! Your installer will make sure the solar panels are safe and functioning as they should. If you have any questions or concerns during this process, your installation team is there for you to aid in your solar success.
